Do you hear me,
I'm talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean

Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying...

Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard.

Jason Mraz Lucky lyrics.

my boy

You are 3 today.
You are definitely your father's son.
You always know that your kisses make everything better for mommy.
You are now totally potty trained.
You could eat breakfast foods for every meal and be thrilled.
You like Thomas the Train, but LOVE anything Cars.
You monkey see monkey do like the best of them.
You are fearless.
You love to sing with your eyes closed.
You think calling people poo poo is a term of endearment.
You sometimes still cry out for daddy at bedtime and it breaks my heart.
You can wail kick on a soccer ball.
You can now strap yourself into your carseat with no help.
You give the best hugs and hug with your whole being.
You are not a huge fan of talking on the phone.
You are our Kyan.
Our joy.
Happy birthday Lightening!!!

things were found.

So I have to be honest.
This was not nearly as good as the Pam Estate, but I did get one smokin' deal.
With kids in tow and the look but don't touch rule out there, we enter the building.
A kind hello greeted us along with a "Now, things do have prices, but be sure to ask because everything is cheaper than what its marked."
For serious?!?
Music to my ears.

Instantly I spy some vintage typewriters and start hyperventilating.
I need another one like a whole in the head let's face the facts.
Right Jamie?
but for so cheap and the story behind it too.
Matt Damon's pretty little fingers may have punched on these keys when filming The Good Shepherd.
SOLD.

We continue to walk around to find some of Carmen Electra's old clothes that were way too small for me, outdated couches from Cher, Hellraiser's mask and loads of other junk.

and then out of the corner of my eye I spy something I have been wanting.
Not just "needing"

Item 438.
I check the price and think its missing a zero.
Of course the bargainer in me asks (like the lady at the front door said to) if it's selling for the price marked?
The man quickly hums and says (and I would never normally share the prices on this blog but in this case, how could I not?)
"How about 50 bucks?"
I try and compose my face into a humble, calm smile and say "I guess that would be fair."
fair?!?
a steal!!!

So not only did I score the deal of the year at the Ramirez house, but a story to boot.
A hardly been used, Schwinn spin bike thanks to Barbara Streisand.
Comical really.

I still miss Kauai, but this living outside of LA thing is kind of riot for now.

Things said in the past few days....

"yeah, I think going to the reunion is just not high enough on the priority list these days. The thought of paying to listen to people one up eachother is not really how I envision spending $65 and a plane ticket to Seattle."

"wow Olivia, that sure does look like Wall-e!"
"That would be awesome to come and meet you in the land of pineapples"

A whole lot, but yet nothing too exciting is happening these days around.
Can you tell by the tone of this post....yikes.
Just nesting as I call it preparing for our 4th housemate to return.
And when I asked my friend if she was nesting (because her husband is gone too) she replied by saying "No, why? Are you pregnant?"
NEVER ASK A FRIEND IF SHE IS PREGNANT BECAUSE THAT WILL ONLY MAKE HER FEEL FAT.
Seriously.

Also spending my time shifting furniture to make things fresh.
Enjoying the last bit of summer flying kites and hitting up Saturday morning garage sales.
Trying to find my desire to make art with paper again.
Passing out gum after poo poos on the potty.
Which in turn equals 2 kids being able to go to preschool twice a week. On the same day.
which then equals mommy getting some long overdue mommy time.
and everyone knows If mama is happy, everyone is happy.
end of story.
cheers to a happy Wednesday!

All these Fall tv sneaks are making me happy.

Because who the heck are those flowers for Chuck?

and this Clue like show is fantastic.

and is my premonition of Derek getting hurt on the way to break up with Rose correct?
Are they finally going to end up together or what?
Inquiring minds are pretty excited to know here.

No words, just cue the theme song.
It had better be the same or they are going to lose this 28 year old "I am really getting to old for these shows but its my guilty pleasure" woman as a viewer.
OK really, I will probably still watch it regardless of the song, but still my hopes are high.
Pretty excited to see that the cRAzY daughter of Julia's girlfriend from my beloved Nip/Tuck as a main character though.

I think more than anything its just another reminder that my 208ish is coming to an end.
and that my friends makes me really really happy.
*insert cheesy grin here*

home.

After nearly 2000 adventurous miles under our 3 belts, we are home.
Exhausted.
But at peace.
That long in the car produces a many a thoughts, ideas, concerns, joys, goals, longings.
You name it.
Just unwinding now and promise to be back with tons of photos and many of details.

Already thinking this is something I am going to make my next project.
If we ever leave the house again due to the Olympics.
Having the kids cheering on Team USA with me is fantastic.
Swimming and synchronized diving is the all around favorite at our house.
With all our hooting and hollering I'm sure the retired neighbors think we have lost it.
ehhh, it's once every four years right.
There is alot to be excited about.
